About Me

I’m Paul or ‘Ting’. Why Ting? It was a nickname given to me by an old boss in the audio industry — my profession for 30 plus years.

I had a business managing sound and visuals at conferences and events when Covid hit, and suddenly I was a man with a van, a warehouse and bills to pay, but there was no industry left.

A personal interest in unusual items, combined with a need to create work and a desire to try something new meant I found myself as an antiques dealer.

Owning the van had always meant I was shifting things for others. Filling in the gaps in work, I’d be moving rubbish, handling this, selling that. I’ve always bought and sold, and I’ve been good at it. The circumstances meant that I now had time in my hands, and an opportunity to further this into a business.

From industrial salvage to decorative antiques, from Folk art to macabre, from Georgian to contemporary, my distinctive professional flair has developed alongside my personal style. I find it difficult to consider myself a ‘proper’ antiques dealer, as I have no formal training, but I’m still enjoying learning on the job.
